ANROL Announces “Lorna’s Family: Always & Forever”

A New Stage Production Coming November 2026

Writer, director, and producer Anthony Small returns to the theatrical spotlight with “Lorna’s Family: Always & Forever,” set to premiere at Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia in November 2026. The production is written, directed, and produced by Small, marking a major artistic comeback after more than a decade.

Confirmed cast members include Jeffrey Lewis (Tyler Perry’s “Madea’s Big Happy Family”), Jada Lewis, Nicholas Powell, and Small himself. Additional talent currently in negotiation includes social media influencer and comedian Nalon Hurdle and Kim Cummings, with more names to be announced as the production develops.

The show holds a Rated R designation for strong language, rude humor, adult themes, mild stage violence, and innuendo.

A Story Rooted in Family, Grief, and Reconciliation

The production centers on a writer who has spent years distant from his family, only to open his home to them following the sudden death of one of the family’s matriarchs. What begins as a week of preparation for a painful farewell evolves into an emotional journey of confession, confrontation, healing, and rediscovery.

Over the course of the week, long-hidden secrets rise to the surface. Old traumas that were never resolved reappear. Relationships once held together by obligation are tested. Through humor, conflict, vulnerability, and the hard work of honest communication, the family is forced to face who they truly are and what they mean to each other.

At its heart, the story explores forgiveness, acceptance, the release of generational toxicity, and the strength found in unity. It is a raw, comedic, emotional portrait of a modern family learning to love each other again.

The Return of a Fan-Favorite Character

The production also marks Small’s return to the stage as his legendary comedic alter ego Marcus “DuRag” Jackson, the rum-sipping, nine millimeter toting character who became a fan favorite in Small’s earlier theatrical work. In this new production, DuRag returns with the same outrageous energy but with a more mature emotional core, reflecting both the evolution of the character and Small’s own growth as an artist.

A Personal Dedication

“Lorna’s Family: Always & Forever” is dedicated to Lorna Small, Anthony Small’s mother, who passed away in 2017. The production serves as both a tribute to her life and a reflection on the joy, pain, complexity, and humor that shape family bonds.

This is Small’s first major stage work since his 2012 production “The Reasons Men Cheat & The Lies Women Tell,” signaling a powerful new chapter in his creative journey.
