CAMERON
 [As he sweeps the kitchen]
Does she like seafood? 

 Starr 
[As she washes the dishes] 
She likes all kinds of food. She LOVES food.

  Cameron 
Cool. I was thinking about this place called Captain George’s Seafood, I think she’d love it...you think she’s been there already?[Starr pauses washing the dishes with a sigh]
 Eh...too fancy, isn’t it? Back to the original plan...Top Golf. A lot more subtle...right? Yeah. I’m not trying to show her I have money I just want to show her a good time. Just...go out and enjoy each other’s company, you know? Or maybe I should cook for her.

  Starr
[Uncomfortably]
Well you CAN cook.

  Cameron
[Chuckles]
Appreciate it… 
[Thinks to himself] 
Yeah...I’ll cook for her and take her to Top Golf afterwards.
[Sighs]
She makes me nervous, Starr, you think you and your boyfriend can come along? It’d help ease the anxiety a little because…

  Starr 
She doesn’t like you like that, Cam.

 [Cameron stops sweeping, there’s an awkward silence as he looks at her and she nervously continues washing the dishes]

  Cameron
 ...she...told you that?

  Starr
 [Turns around with a sigh]
I’m sorry, hun...it’s just...you’re saying all these things you want to do for her and how much she means to you...and...and it hurts to hear that...just...don’t want to see you do all that knowing it would mean nothing to her.

  Cameron 
Oh…

  Starr
I’m sorry. I shouldn’tve… 

 Cameron
No...no. It’s cool. I appreciate it. Is it because of...I mean...am I…

 Starr 
You deserve better. That’s what it is.

  Cameron 
I mean...nobody’s perfect...if she got to know me maybe she…

  Starr 
She won’t. 
[Looks down at the floor]
Trust me, I know.

  Cameron
Ok… 
[Keeps sweeping]
Alright. 

Starr
I guess that ruins the future parties and everything, huh?

  Cameron 
No. Hell no. Everyone is always welcome here. Not everyone is everyone’s type, I get it. No love lost. 
[Sweeps] 
Just wish I hadn’t been so vocal about it all, because now she knows and that’ll always be the elephant in the room. I could’ve kept it to myself...I’m good at doing that.

 Starr 
Somebody out there’s going to love that optimism in you, Cam. 

 Cameron
Yeah. I know. 

 [Starr turns around and keeps washing the dishes, Cameron finishes sweeping, puts the broom away and then gives Starr a big hug from behind. She smiles gratefully as he crosses through the den and into his bedroom and closes the door]
